The Western Development Commission (WDC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ciara Jordan as the new Head of Marketing and Communications. With over fifteen years of experience in leading, developing, and implementing innovative communications strategies across various industries, Ciara brings a wealth of expertise to her new role. 

A native of Galway and a former journalist, Ciara holds an MA in Journalism and Media Communications. She has a proven track record as a seasoned communications professional, having commenced her career as a news journalist for national titles such as the Irish Independent, The Sunday Business Post, and The Irish Daily Mail.  

Throughout her career, Ciara has demonstrated her commitment to making a positive impact, particularly in humanitarian development. Her previous roles include positions with GOAL Global and Plan International, where she played pivotal roles in responding to crises including Ebola, El Nino, and the Syria Crisis. 

In her most recent role as Communication Manager at Aldi Ireland, Ciara led a comprehensive multi-channel consumer communications strategy. Prior to that, she served as Head of Communications at Fuzion Communications, where she oversaw client services across corporate, consumer, public affairs, and government sectors.
