Are you connected to people with links to the West and Northwest?
Across the region, individuals and organisations maintain strong ties with people who have roots here but live elsewhere, through sport, family, heritage, culture, or shared interests. Whether these connections happen at work, in community groups, schools, clubs, or through volunteering or personal relationships, we want to hear about them.
Every connection, big or small, helps us better understand the connections between Ireland’s West and those who hold it dear.
Who We Want to Hear From
Individuals or organisations in the West & Northwest who stay connected to those with ties to the region. Examples include:
- Local authorities, community and development organisations
- Sports, arts, culture, heritage, and volunteer groups
- Schools, colleges, alumni networks, and education providers
- Business and professional networks
- Community members staying in contact with friends or family
We are really interested in your connections with:
- People who have recently emigrated or moved away
- People who emigrated or moved away 5 years ago or more
- School or college alumni
- Those with family or ancestral ties to the region
- Second or third-generation connections
- Anyone who feels a link through identity, interests, or shared affinity
Why Your Input Matters
Sharing your experiences will help us identify the different ways people stay connected, highlight what works and where support is needed, and uncover opportunities for collaboration and new ideas. Your feedback will provide a clearer picture of these connections and show how communities and organisations can work together more effectively.
