The Marian Hall was completely refurbished and upgraded to include new roof, upgrade of toilets, kitchen and office, air to water heating system, PV Solar Panels and insulation. The facility is accessible for those with mobility difficulties.

Two private offices with work stations and printer are available. Mobile coverage has been enhanced and refurbished kitchen and toilet facilities are available. Free accessible car parking is provided. Electric Vehicle charging point on site. This was all thanks to a Term Loan from the Western Development Commission.

The WDC was very receptive to our application for funds to refurbish our community centre and the flexibility with repayments during Covid-19 was a great help.

What advice would you give to groups looking for a loan in the future?

It is important that time is allowed for application well in advance of when funds are required. Have ownership, planning if required, and details of project in place before applying.

What type of Loan did you get from WDC. Was it a Bridging or Term Loan (or both)?

It was a Term Loan.

We would recommend the Western Development Commission (WDC) for supporting future projects. They were very helpful throughout our application process. Bridging finance is a huge issue for Community Groups who are approved grant funding. This is a service we believe should be addressed by WDC.
